This gives it the lowest thermal conductivity of any known solid, making it one of the lightest and thinnest insulation materials available.

Aerogel-based insulation for better system performance
With a thermal operating range from -180°C (-292°F) to +650°C (+1,200°F), aerogel technology opens the door to applications previously limited by material constraints. The ultra-thin yet highly efficient insulation blankets minimise heat loss, maximise energy efficiency, and contribute to significant operational cost reductions. ArmaGel® XGH is engineered for high-temperature service, offering consistent insulation across pipelines, vessels, and equipment in advanced mechanical systems.
For dual-temperature and cryogenic applications, ArmaGel XGC provides stable performance and flexibility under extreme thermal conditions, further supported by their compliance with ASTM C1728 standards. The hydrophobic nature of aerogel mitigates corrosion under insulation (CUI), ensuring the long-term protection of valuable infrastructure. This makes ArmaGel ideal for LNG facilities, refineries, and offshore platforms, where moisture ingress is a critical challenge.
Proprietary low dust technology
ArmaGel® products also support ease of fabrication and installation, with flexible, lightweight formats that conform to complex geometries and require less time and labour to install. The reduction in material thickness—up to 80 percent compared to traditional insulation—translates into smaller plant footprints, reduced supporting steelwork, and lower cladding costs.
With the launch of ArmaGel XGH in 2024, we have further elevated performance benchmarks. Available globally, our product line represents the future of insulation for high-temperature industrial and energy systems, offering a powerful combination of thermal efficiency, sustainability, and fire resilience.
In 2025 we launched ArmaGel XGC, our next-generation cryogenic and dual-temperature insulation blanket. A revolutionary product that sets a new industry standard by combining superior insulation efficiency with improved worker safety through proprietary low-dust technology. It delivers exceptional thermal performance, is ASTM C1728 Type I and Type IV compliant, and is suitable for cryogenic conditions down to -196°C (-321°F).
